Studio time! In the studio – a story in pictures!

Show season in Arizona has come to a close and I have been busy in the studio.  I don’t have much to say about it so I thought I’d just post a few pictures and then its back to the studio I go!

At the end of the day ( and sometimes during the day), the pots waiting for trimming need to be covered, sprayed with water and zipped into the vinyl covered ware cart - the air is dry in Arizona!

    Thanks for the tour. Clay studios are endlessly fascinating to me. I enjoyed peeking into your corners. What a pleasant space and great set up!

      Hi Liz – Thanks for taking a peek! I hope you get a chance to come see it in person sometime. This has been a banner year for visitors. Elaine Pinkernell was here the beginning of March and Jeannine Niehaus came to give a workshop in April. I so enjoyed seeing my longtime pottery friends!

    Terry-thanks for the great studio tour! I am having my studio built in Green Valley right now, and it’s fun to see how you have yours set up. Where did you get the portable damp room?

      Hi Bambi – the portable damp room is a Northstar ware cart that comes with wire shelves and the vinyl cover. I ordered it through Marjon’s as they were able to get a price that matched ordering in on-line.     Thank you for taking us on a tour of your studio! Love the location; full of natural inspiration! Any particular reason why you use your kickwheel for trimming?

    1. Terry

      I like using the kickwheel for trimming as I think it gives me more control. You can get plenty of speed with it (I used to throw on it too) but it does not get away from you like the electric wheel sometimes does.
